Chinese Champs is an innovative Chinese reading program that introduces the basics of Chinese characters and leads children to read with ease and joy.

2 lessons teach 16 characters for forming words.
5 lessons enable independent reading with 40 characters.
Each term has 10 lessons and 88 characters, 166 words, and 38 sentences.
8-term course teaches nearly 1000 characters and 4000 words, including 130 idioms and proverbs.

Chinese is not a phonetic language. A special tool called “Hanyu Pinyin” (pronouncing the sound) is created for people to learn Mandarin pronunciation. The pronunciation of Mandarin is related to the romanized alphabet Pinyin. 

The best time to pick up Hanyu Pinyin is at the level of K2 or P1. Pinyin is the most important and basic part of Chinese learning. It will help you with your pronunciation, while also helping with reading and writing.
